This year’s featured artist is Philadelphia area resident, Rachel Brown. Rachel’s central medium is oil paint. Rachel received her BA in Fine Arts from Pennsylvania State University. During college, she spent a semester in Rome studying painting and art history as a student at Temple University’s Fine Arts Program in Rome. After graduating, Rachel spent 18 productive years building a career in the corporate world, continuing to paint when time allowed. Realizing her need to foster her passion and mature and expand her techniques, she left the corporate world to focus full-time on her art. Rachel's most recent work, which is rich with vibrant color, energy, and movement, is most influenced by the stunning colors and shapes found in water, shells, botanicals and natural surroundings of some of her favorite coastal destinations.
Rachel’s work is regularly displayed at numerous area shows including those held by the Delaware Valley Art League, the Wayne Art Center and the Academy of Notre Dame. She has been featured as a solo artist at several coffee shop and restaurant venues. In addition, she has participated in a number of charity events including those benefiting CHOP and the Radnor Conservancy. A variety of recent paintings can be viewed on her website at www.artatrachelbrown.com.
New artists this year include: Susan Bankert, Pearl Bayne, Sandra Benhaim, Lisa C. Budd, Sue Ciccone, Sharon Coulson Downes, Gretchen Fuss, Joe Jacobs, Vladimir Kim, Carol Lesher, Pam McKee, Susan Reiser, George Watson, Kyle Whary, Steven White, Jan Wier, John A. Wilson, and Jeannie Wolfington.
