On October 16, 2014, alumna Dr. Trish Henwood ’98, an emergency room physician and Director of Global Health Initiatives at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, traveled to Liberia, the epicenter of the deadly Ebola outbreak, to work with the International Medical Corps treating Ebola patients.  "It just became clear that other people were not taking up the torch, and it felt like it needed to be done," says Trish. She believes it was never a question about going; rather, it was about finding the time.

Trish is writing posts from Liberia for The Inquirer until her return in mid-November.
