Capital & Endowment
Capital and endowment gifts are an important component of the Academy of Notre Dame’s fundraising program.
The Academy is currently in the early phases of the OUR TIME to INSPIRE Campaign. In 2014, the school completed the first phase of this effort with the addition of two state-of-the-art turf fields, plus a track and renovated softball field. In addition, Launfal has been renovated into a beautiful and highly functional fieldhouse for student athletes. Additional information regarding the school’s capital efforts will be shared in the year ahead.
Notre Dame’s endowment provides a permanent, sustainable source of funding for the Academy, assuring that the school will have the resources to provide an outstanding education for future generations of students. Endowment principal is invested, and each year a portion (currently 4%) of the value of the fund is utilized to support the fund’s purpose. As of June 30, 2016, Notre Dame’s endowment was valued at approximately $7 million.
Named endowed funds may be established at Notre Dame with a gift of $50,000 or more and can be designated to support an area of interest for the donor such as financial aid for deserving students, faculty professional development, academic or extracurricular programs. When a donor chooses to establish a named endowed fund, an agreement is drafted with the donor outlining the donor’s wishes and explaining how the use of funds will be acknowledged and reported.
