The 2016 graduation speakers have been announced! Congratulations to Valedictorian Anne Marie Crinnion, Salutatorian Rachel Weber, and Mistress of Ceremonies Erin Boyle.
Philadelphia, PA (April 22, 2016) – The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur is one of two winners of the Environmental Community Service Award 2016, presented by Wawa, 6abc, and the environmental law firm Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, LLP (MGKF). The goal of the Environmental Community Service Award is to recognize two schools (6th to 12th grades) for their outstanding programs that enhance and improve the quality of life in their communities as well as raise awareness of environmental concerns. The other school this year is the Winslow Township Middle School in Atco, New Jersey. Each school received a $5,000 honorarium to continue their environmental programs next year.
We are proud to announce that Juniors Merry Gu and Julia Walton have been selected for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Diocesan Scholars program.
Please join us in congratulating the students who have achieved Honor Roll and Distinguished Honor Roll for the first semester of the 2015-2016 school year.
For the second consecutive year, a Notre Dame contender has been named a finalist in the prestigious Shakespeare competition sponsored by the Philadelphia chapter of the English Speaking Union. On Monday, February 15, Julia Goldschmidt '17 earned a spot as one of the top 10 students among a field of candidates selected by area schools to compete in memorization and performance of Shakespearean sonnets and scenes.
Last week Notre Dame honored seniors Anne Marie Crinnion, Brianna Heffernen, and Janet Wu for their recognition as National Merit Scholarship Finalists. These students were acknowledged for their distinguished performance and high potential for future academic accomplishment. Congratulations!
