March 26, 2021 Dear Notre Dame Community,
Our Notre Dame community has gathered in prayer throughout Lent to ask for God's continued healing for our global community during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have prayed for the grace of compassion and resilience, as we care for one another in these difficult times.
With renewed confidence, may we celebrate our Easter faith and hope. May God's love dawn in our hearts and may God's goodness strengthen our Notre Dame community, now and in all the days to come.
Judith A. Dwyer, Ph.D. Head of School
Final Week of Lent - Holy Week As we enter into this Holy Week, take time to read the Palm Sunday readings. Consider the way that Jesus was feeling. How can you relate to Jesus's emotions?
As your Lenten journey comes to an end, reflect on who has helped you grow closer to God.
We were thrilled to host current and incoming families for our Class of 2025 Parent Evening this week! We look forward to welcoming you and your daughters to our Upper School community for the 2021-2022 school year! Thank you to the many fantastic Notre Dame students who volunteered, spoke, held doors, and so much more to help make this such a special event.
From the College Counseling Office 10th grade families should have received an email from Lauryn Roth last Tuesday, March 16 with details about our diagnostic SAT/ACT exam opportunity through Inspirica test prep organization. This is a free exam and results consultation to help your sophomore determine which college entrance exam might best fit their strengths for junior year. The test is a take-home test that students can complete over spring break. Please see the email for additional details or contact Lauryn Roth with any questions!
Also, save the date for our Virtual Underclass Parent Night on Thursday, April 15 at 7:00 pm! We are very excited to have JT Duck, the Dean of Admission from Tufts University, present on how to best prepare for the college process as underclass students. This night will be most appropriate for 9th and 10th grade students and parents, but all are welcome to attend. A Zoom link will be sent closer to the date; no RSVP is required.

In Their Own Words: ND Students Share Camp Experiences
On Wednesday, seniors had a chance to hear from Notre Dame alumnae as they spoke about their careers and their college and life experiences, providing some sound advice to our students who are preparing for life "beyond the gates." A huge thank you to: Eryka Lynn Waller '10, Emily Fuss '12, Hannah Fuss '16, Kaitlin Smith Donnelly '08, Kelly Corcoran Putsch '09, Kristen Bandos '12, Krista Funari '08, Kim Curtis '09, Lindsay Gosnell Green '04 for spending time with our seniors.
Women's History Month Speakers As we conclude our celebration of Women's History Month, the ND community welcomed two extraordinary speakers in homeroom. First, Dr. Anne Angle, Orthodontist and owner of Angle Orthodontics, shared her perspective on being a woman in a male-dominated medical profession.
Amy Go, the former President of the Chinese Canadian National Council, spoke to the Notre Dame community on Tuesday. Ms. Go discussed the phenomenon of anti-Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) violence, offering our students ways in which they can support our Asian American Pacific Islander sisters. The DEI Department and the entire Notre Dame community acknowledge the harm and violence visited upon AAPI communities and condemn all violence and hate speech targeting any group of people.
Thank you, Dr. Angle and Ms. Go, for taking the time to speak with our students and staff this month.

Saylor Milone '24 Attends Future Medical Leaders Conference Last weekend, grade 9 student Saylor Milone attended The National Congress of Future Medical Leaders, a conference for some of the most high-achieving students across America. Saylor shares, "I attended the Congress on March 20 and 21 and was honored to have been invited because it truly was a life-changing experience. I enjoyed every minute of it and now look up to some of the speaker-mentors who spoke to me and my fellow delegates about their experiences in the fields of medicine. I am even more excited about my future and the potential I have to make a great difference in the world.
"The Congress of Future Medical Leaders was not only amazing because of the speakers who I heard from, but because I also had the ability to collaborate with other delegates and participate in a live Q&A session with Dr. Mario Capecchi, one of the world's greatest medical leaders. I obtained new knowledge that I never would have until medical school, at least! The Congress taught me so many new things, about medicine and life. I learned about nearly every field of medicine, but also can now understand the importance of making mistakes and never giving up. Being one of the 4,000 delegates to the National Congress of Future Medical Leaders is an extraordinary opportunity, and I will be forever grateful for the one-of-a-kind experience I received."
Global Classroom Lesson with London Sister School On Tuesday, Terry Maksymowych's AP Biology class participated in a Global Classroom with our sister school in London, Notting Hill and Ealing High School. The two groups gave presentations on various aspects of COVID-19, from its pathology and how it surprised and confused the medical community to variances in vaccines and misinformation about the vaccines. It was impressive to hear the students' understanding of these topics and their ability to explain that knowledge in a clear and concise manner to people on another continent. Great job, AP Bio!

The Middle School Campus Ministry team had an engaging and community-building activity at lunch on Tuesday.
