We have several students looking to interview and connect with Alumnae for their senior research projects. These students are looking for ND Alumnae in corporate America working in the STEM field; working in a legal position involving civil rights, correctional facilities; and any Alumnae who have worked on the issue of poverty. The Buzz On and Off Campus Alumnae Present on the Topic of Healthcare, Careers to Current Students Notre Dame welcomed home four very successful Alumnae in the Healthcare profession who were panelists for a classroom presentation yesterday. The class is Modern Literature and Human Experience, and the junior students recently finished reading Complications: A Surgeon's Notes on an Imperfect Science by Atul Gawande. The Alumnae answered a wide array of questions for the students. Thank you to the following Alumnae for your time and impact on our students yesterday:
Alumnae Gathered to Discuss Strategic Plan at First Alumnae Association Meeting
The first of three Alumnae Association Meetings during the 2019-2020 academic year took place on Wednesday, October 23 in the Mansion. The meeting was an opportunity for Alumnae to take part in the Academy's strategic planning process for the next five years (2020-2025). The next two Alumnae Association meetings will be held on January 22 and April 22. All Alumnae are part of the Association and invited to attend these meetings.
Spirit Day Success! Last Friday was Spirit Day and a highlight of the year for many of our students! Thank you to all the Alumnae who joined in via livestream! The Seniors (Red Class) won overall best skit and 70 Alumnae generously donated in honor of their Class. Thank you for your continued support of Notre Dame!

Alumnae Return and Make an Impact on our Students in Athletics! Meghan McCullough '10 returned to campus as a Guest Coach for the High School Girls' Basketball Team as they prepare for the start of their season. A decorated athlete during her time here, Meghan went on to Captain and lead the University of Pennsylvania Women's Basketball Team to an Ivy League Championship in 2014. Notre Dame Alumnae have been gracious to give back to our community through Athletics. We currently have several Alumnae on our coaching staff including Alexandra Quigley '14 who serves as the Varsity Volleyball Assistant Coach and helped lead the team to its 6th Inter-Ac League Championship. On our JV Field Hockey Coaching Staff is Moira Putsch '14 and Beth McCabe '10, while Brigit Barry '03 is the Head Varsity Swimming Coach and leads an impressive group of swimmers including four All-Americans this upcoming season. Merry Gu '17 Takes on Unique Internship Opportunity in Morocco! Merry Gu '17 participated in the University of Pennsylvania's GRIP program (Global Research & Internship Program), spending her time in Rabat, Morocco. She worked in a multilingual environment for Jossour Forum des Femmes Marocianes (FFM), which partners with the United Nations and is deeply involved in promoting gender equality and women's rights in Morocco and the Middle East North Africa region. Wedding Bells are Ringing! Highlights from our Stunning Alumnae who Recently Celebrated their Weddings! Congratulations to Melissa Bemer '04 and Stephen Boerner who were married on September 27, 2019. Their ceremony and reception were held at Overbrook Golf Club and wedding pictures were taken on Notre Dame's breathtaking campus. Cristi Farrell Garfield '04 was married September 1, 2018 to Roger Garfield of Northville, Michigan. Lauren Farrell Moran '01, was the matron of honor and Katherine Corkhill Barthelmeh '04 and Michelle Markwith Berlin '04 read The Eight Beatitudes during the ceremony. Melissa Bemer '04 and Courtney Collins '04 were also in attendance. The ceremony was held at Cristi's hometown church of St. Anastasia in Newtown Square, PA followed by a reception at The Sheraton Society Hill in Philadelphia.
Shannon Killeen '04 married Michael Schwartz on August 31, 2019 in Atlantic City, NJ. Shannon's sister, Lauren Killeen Boyle '07 was the matron of honor.
Baby News! Please join us in congratulating Carol Behler Coady '04 and her husband Matt who welcomed a baby girl, Avery Grace, on March 4, 2019.

A Call for Nominations for Alumnae Awards There are four Alumnae Awards that will be presented in 2020 and the details are shared below.
The St. Julie Award - presented to an Alumna of the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur whose life contributes to the recognition of the goodness of God in all creation, and who commits herself to the service of others. This woman is chosen by her peers as a model of faith, optimism, integrity, and unselfish dedication.
The NDA Award - presented to an Alumna whose ongoing commitment to the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur is exemplary in scope, enthusiasm, and diligence. Acknowledging the value of a Notre Dame education, she offers her time, energy and whatever resources at her disposal to ensure the future of the Academy and expand its influence.
The Distinguished Alumna Award - presented to an Alumna who has distinguished herself by giving witness to the mission of the Academy and the mission of the Sisters and who exhibits the ideals of an Alumna of the Academy in her daily life.
Hall of Fame Awards - presented to Alumnae who have demonstrated outstanding athletic performance, leadership, accolades, and program contributions while at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur.
The deadline to nominate is Sunday, November 17. The Selection Committee will review the nominations, determine the Award recipients, and announce the recipients in December.
