Travel Programs, Club & Conferences

The CGL offers different types of travel programs to all Notre Dame students.

Curricular Cultural Immersions: These faculty proposed week-long trips focus on various aspects of the ND curriculum and allow students to fully immerse themselves in a new culture through a variety of experiences and activities. They are typically run through a third party educational travel vendor in June.

Conference Travel:  Many students participate in global citizenship oriented conferences or competitions during the academic year that require either domestic or international travel. Examples include Model UN, NAIS Student Diversity Leadership Conference, and the All Girls' Leadership Conference.

Academic Exchange: Earning a .5 credit on a student's transcript, these two to three week exchanges require students to select and investigate a topic related to their destination city or country. Exchanges also include visiting one or two of our sister schools, a homestay with a sister school family, and excursions related to student research topics. We are excited to get back to our exchanges this year! Click here to learn more about the Academic Exchange Program.

Service Programs: In partnership with the Campus Ministry office, the CGL offers multiple domestic service programs to educate and address areas of need within our own country. This year we are bringing students to New Orleans, Bethlehem Farm in West Virginia, and the St. Francis Inn in Philadelphia to learn about and participate in service that focuses on food insecurity, homelessness, environmental insecurity, and supporting people with various disabilities.

I am one of 8 billion people living on this earth, and everyone is living this life differently. I hope that everyone gets an opportunity to feel this type of community and love I felt while I was in NOLA. This experience affected me in ways I never thought.

"I really miss the people and the safe space provided during the meetings. The diverse setting we were in made me realize how important diversity is for a growing mind and how important it is that our learning environments are diverse." Sophia Bramley '24 on SDLC
