Each incoming freshman class adopts a class color, which they proudly carry with them through graduation. Our middle school students join in this tradition with their own grade-specific colors.

The ND community gathers to open each academic year with prayer and celebration of the Eucharist. Students in grade 9 are welcomed by their faculty advisors with a Saint Julie necklace, and incoming sixth grade students receive a sunflower pin reminding us of Saint Julie's words, "As the sunflower turns always to the sun, so should we always turn to God." Colorful flags on the Mansion lawn mark each class gathering area for a picnic after Mass.

The special bond between a daughter and her mother or special mother figure is recognized and blessed at this annual liturgy and picnic. Alumnae moms, aunts, grandmothers, and others are also recognized on this special day. 

Students and faculty dress in pink and denim to support breast cancer awareness and raise money for Breastcancer.org, an important resource center for patients, survivors, and their families.

The special bond between a daughter and her father or special father figure is recognized and blessed at this annual Communion Mass and breakfast.

Students in every grade dress in their class colors to participate in a day of games, activities, and friendly challenges. Upper School students present their own creative takes on popular musicals in the day’s culminating skit competitions. This exciting annual event is a true favorite among ND students and alumnae.

Students and their moms, or the special women in their lives, enjoy a luncheon and boutique shopping experience to celebrate the start of the Christmas season.

Students are invited to exchange kind, encouraging, or funny notes and small gifts secretly with one another for one week during Advent. Students reveal their identities during a Christmas assembly.

Grandparents and special friends are invited to join Middle School students for Liturgy and a glimpse of ND student life.

The class ring connects the history, memories, and shared experiences of all Notre Dame graduates. Juniors receive their ring during a liturgy celebrated with the ND community. The school seal appears on one side of the center stone and on the other side, ND’s Gates represent the bond and legacy of the sisterhood of Notre Dame.
