"A senior at the Academy of Notre Dame, Ellie Pinto is a member of the National Honor Society and has performed extremely well in Mathletes competitions. She had the third-highest score in the western division, and in their final regular season matchup on March 6, she scored a perfect individual score in the contest, which concentrated on the topic of Trigonometry. Thanks in part to Pinto, the Academy of Notre Dame was the Archdiocesan League champion in Mathletes. She is a member of Student Council, Mock Trial, and is a National Merit Finalist. Pinto is a member of Notre Dame’s sailing team, and will compete in this sport for Massachusetts Institute of Technology this fall."
On Wednesday, May 10, Mr. Tom Verdi was awarded the Michael F. Mayock Distinguished Teacher-Coach Award.
The Mayock Award recognizes those individuals who impart the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and concern for the total education of the student-athletes in the Inter-Ac League.
Mr. Verdi teaches social studies at Notre Dame and is also the varsity golf coach and Middle School soccer coach.
The prize rotates throughout each of the Inter-Ac institutions, and recipients are chosen by a unanimous vote of the athletic director and Head of School of the eligible schools each year.
We are so proud of Mr. Verdi and thank him for his years of hard work and dedication to our ND students.
Congratulations to the following six seniors who are joining the nine previous ND athletes who have committed to continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level after they leave the Gates.
