Competing against the top rowing programs from across the country, Notre Dame’s student-athletes showcased the values that define the program:  sisterhood, sportsmanship, determination, and excellence. Through a highly competitive weekend of racing, all three Notre Dame boats finished among the top 10 crews in the nation. The Varsity 4+ and Junior Varsity 4+ each captured silver medals and National Runner-Up honors, while the Junior Varsity 8+ earned an impressive 9th place finish. 

The Varsity 4+ delivered an exceptional performance throughout the regatta, culminating in a silver-medal finish in the Finals. The crew consisted of Grace M. (C), Ellie B. (4), Bridget B. (3), Caroline D. (2), Morgan F. (1). Their determination and teamwork earned them a place on the national podium and marked one of the program’s most significant achievements to date.

The Junior Varsity 4+ also raced to a silver medal and National Runner-Up finish. The crew featured Claire D. (C) , Riley M. (4), Emme M. (3), Maeve M. (2), Jocie C. (1). Their outstanding performance demonstrated the depth and strength of the Irish rowing program and capped off an exceptional season. 

Despite the rainy conditions and fierce competition throughout the weekend, Notre Dame’s rowers raced with grit, resilience, and determination. With every boat finishing among the nation’s top 10, the team delivered a historic performance that reflects the strength of Notre Dame Rowing and the sisterhood that drives its success. Congratulations to all of our student-athletes and coaches on an unforgettable championship regatta. Go Irish!

Jason Dumas of 6abc Action News visited campus last week to capture the energy and momentum of the team during an early-season practice. His feature included interviews with Head Coach Anna McNevin and standout midfielder Riley Davis. 

Riley, a member of the Class of 2027, has earned national recognition as the No. 1 ranked girls’ lacrosse player in the country for her class by Inside Lacrosse. Already committed to Penn State University, Riley’s dedication, skill, and leadership on the field makes her an extraordinary role model for her teammates and the entire Notre Dame community. 

The segment highlights not only the team’s impressive talent, but also the hard work, sportsmanship, and camaraderie that define Notre Dame athletics. Anna competed as a member of Skyliners Junior Team USA at the prestigious Santa Claus Cup in Brno, Czech Republic, where twelve elite teams from around the world gathered for this highly competitive event. Representing the United States, Anna and her teammates showcased their strength and artistry to captivate judges and spectators alike.

Through dedication, perseverance, and a shared sense of purpose, Skyliners Junior Team USA earned the silver medal, an impressive accomplishment on the international stage. Their success highlights the power of working together toward a common goal and lifting one another up along the way. 

Adding to this significant achievement, Anna was selected to represent her teammates on the podium during the awards ceremony. This honor speaks to her leadership and the strong bonds she has formed with her teammates, embodying the spirit of sisterhood that is fostered at Notre Dame.

These seniors have contributed to Notre Dame’s championship teams, earned individual records, and served as role models for younger students. Their achievements reflect not only on their own hard work but also the supportive environment and strong coaching that are hallmarks of the Academy’s athletics program. 

Mrs. Laura Losey, who specializes in assisting ND’s student-athletes navigate the college process, shared, “Our College Counseling team is very proud of these students who committed to continuing their academic and athletic careers at the next level. Their accomplishments reflect years of hard work, discipline, and heart, and we celebrate this milestone alongside them. They carry with them the Academy’s traditions of excellence, service, and sisterhood.”
