Dance

Notre Dame Dance

The Academy of Notre Dame's Dance Program offers dance to all interested students with varying degrees of dance experience. Whether a student has been dancing for years or is a beginner, there is a class for everyone. At the Upper School level, students can take the follow performance courses: Introduction to Dance, Dance Appreciation and Performance, or Dance Company.

At the middle school level, Dance is a required course. All dance classes, with the exception of Dance for Fitness, perform in the Winter Performance in January and the Spring Performance in May.

The Academy of Notre Dame Dance Company is an auditioned group of students who practice and perform year round. The Dance Company course is designed for students who are serious about the art of dance. Auditions for the Dance Company are held each March, prior to student course selection.

The Regional High School Dance Festival is a five-day dance festival held for high school dance programs on the East Coast. Each year schools may submit five choreographic pieces to an adjudication panel consisting of university professors and dance professionals.

Out of 52 high schools with a total of 260 dances submitted, 39 were selected. The Academy of Notre Dame Company is proud to announce we have had TWO WORKS ACCEPTED TO BE PRESENTED at the festival's performances! Watch the selected performances linked above.

2023 Fall Dance Festival

One of the main reasons I chose to attend ND was because of the dance and theatre programs. With so many opportunities to perform, it felt like I was attending a performing arts school. Today, I'm a senior at one of the top music schools in the US and have performed professionals around the country.
