Choral Music

The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur proudly offers three choral ensembles for students to explore and grow their musical talents. Our Middle and Upper School choirs showcase exceptional repertoire, ranging from innovative, contemporary works by composers such as Elaine Hagenberg and John Rutter to the timeless classics that have shaped the choral tradition for centuries.

Our Women’s Chorales perform in four major concerts each year on campus—our Fall Concert, Christmas Concert, Chamber Music performance, and Spring Concert. Beyond the Cuvilly stage, both ensembles also share their music "beyond the gates."

The Middle School Women’s Chorale enjoys an annual day trip to participate in a Music in the Parks festival at one of Pennsylvania’s premier amusement parks.

The Upper School Women’s Chorale embarks on an annual overnight trip to a major U.S. city, where students explore new places, perform in world-class professional venues, and participate in masterclasses with leading choral musicians.

Students of all backgrounds are also invited to join our Liturgical Choir, which meets during community time and sings at every liturgy throughout the school year. This ensemble requires no audition and offers a welcoming, joyful space for all who wish to lend their voices in service and celebration.

"Being in an ensemble has taught me what it means to work collaboratively to create something bigger than myself. It has taught me what it means to discipline myself and that when you actually enjoy something, it shouldn't feel like work."Hannah JacksonClass of 2021
