Performing Arts

The Academy of Notre Dame offers two choirs for students. There are several choral opportunities throughout the year. Students involved in the choral groups at Notre Dame participate in the annual on campus Christmas and Spring Concerts. Additionally, the Upper School Women’s Chorale performs at several additional on campus events throughout the year as well as other off campus opportunities.  Students also have the opportunity to cantor and help lead the community at school liturgies throughout the year. Notre  Dame’s Middle School and Upper School instrumental ensembles offer students who play string and wind instruments the opportunity for a chance to perform in an annual Christmas Concert, Spring Concert, and Chamber Music concert on campus. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to perform at other special events on campus as well as participate in the All Catholic Band and Orchestra festivals and performances. The Academy of Notre Dame’s dance program offers dance to all interested students with varying degrees of dance experience. Whether a student has been dancing for years or is a beginner, there is a class for everyone. Notre Dame also offers the Academy of Notre Dame Dance Company and Second Company as auditioned groups who practice and perform year round as part of the on campus Winter and Spring Dance Performances in addition to local, regional and national dance festivals. Notre Dame’s thriving Theatre Program includes an upper school musical in the fall, and a middle school musical in the winter. Additionally, students who want to be involved in theatre, but not as a performer, can join Stage Crew for productions throughout the year. Student stage crew members gain experience in designing props and scenery as well as assisting with the many additional technical aspects of a show. Visit the Theatre Program here.
