Music at Notre Dame
The Academy of Notre Dame offers three choirs for students. At the middle school level, students may audition and be selected to the Middle School Women's Chorale if singing is their passion. When students reach the upper school, they can enroll in the upper school chorus "The Notre Dame Nightingales" or may be selected by a yearly audition to participate in the select, "Women’s Chorale." Students of all grades may choose to sing in the Academy’s Liturgical Choir, and have the opportunity to cantor at school liturgies throughout the year.
For students who wish to continue their music education but who do not wish to sing or play an instrument, the Academy also offers a Music Theory course.

"It has been my privilege to work with you and the other ladies on Women's Chorale. The rigorous nature of your program has greatly enhanced my technical ability to sight read songs in all keys and a variety of rhythms. I was able to apply my skills to a successful audition and participation on the Archdiocesan All-Catholic Choir, which I hope to repeat again this year."

"Women's Chorale shaped who I am both as a Notre Dame woman and also as a performance artist."

"Being in an ensemble has taught me what it means to work collaboratively to create something bigger than myself. It has taught me what it means to discipline myself and that when you actually enjoy something, it shouldn't feel like work."
