Our Upper School focuses on preparing students to be leaders in a global society. Students from the Middle School continue their educational growth, and new students learn to be a woman of Notre Dame.

The Notre Dame commitment of teaching young women “what they need to know for life” progresses, encouraging exploration, innovation, imagination, and expression.

Highlights of our Upper School:

  • The Center for Global Leadership provides students with authentic learning experiences that educate, empower, and inspire them to develop cultural curiosity and humility, creativity, and compassion in order to inform their leadership and service experiences in both their local and global communities.

  • As a college-preparatory school, College Counseling begins in the 9th grade. Counselors mentor students through personality and career inventories, majors, scholarship searches, applications, and essays. Our goal is to help students find the best fit for their higher education.

  • The Upper School offers Scholar Programs in the Arts, Global Citizenship, and STEM. These programs provide dedicated students with the platform and support to create an intentional focus on a given subject area through the Notre Dame curriculum, co-curricular involvement, and off-campus activities. Students may apply in the spring of 9th or 10th grade.

  • At Notre Dame, we have an intentional focus on service. Upper School students are required to complete 60 credits of social service in order to graduate. Credits are earned through both direct and indirect service hours. Campus Ministry helps provide service opportunities for the students as well as faith enrichment, retreats, and pastoral care to the Notre Dame community.

  • world-class STEM curriculum is taught in our Riley Center for STEM Education, which opened in April 2019. The STEM curriculum and Riley Center feature technology enabled active learning (TEAL) environments with eight science laboratories, three lab prep rooms, eight mathematics classrooms, a design thinking and entrepreneurship classroom and labs dedicated to design and innovation, robotics and coding.
