Despite the restrictions and adjustments brought on by COVID-19, the athletes of the Class of 2021 had a successful year and were recognized for their hard work.
The Catholic Philopatrian Literary Institute awarded the Stotesbury Regatta Outstanding Achievement Award to Grace Quirk. The Inter-Ac Athletic Director’s Award was presented to Mia Abruzzo, and the recipient of the Blue and Gold Award was Mary Livingood. The Jo Trexler Award went to Avery Thomas, Maddie Schultz received the Faith Bascome Sportsmanship Award and Izzy Casale was awarded the Notre Dame Spirit Award.
Athletic Director Ben Davey said that although the school year was different from years past, the ability to have our athletes out, competing on the fields, in the water, and on the courts, was a victory in itself.
“I was delighted that our senior athletes were able to have some kind of sporting year to look back at, even though it was far from what they would have imagined coming in as a freshman.” Davey said.
Congratulations to all of Notre Dame’s athletes!
