The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur will host the 49th Annual Virtual Fine Art Show & Sale from January 29-February 6, 2022.
The Fine Art Show & Sale features over 1,200 pieces of art, from large-scale paintings to miniatures, 3D pieces and sculptures, hand-blown glass, clay and more, created by over 100 artists, including 10 new artists. With a variety of mediums and a wide range of prices, there is truly something for everyone, for every room - business or home. Thirty-five percent of funds generated by the Show go directly to Notre Dame, in support of the Academy's mission to prepare young women for responsible living in a global society.
This year’s featured artist is Gretchen Fuss. Fuss is an accomplished artist and interior designer from Swarthmore, PA. She showed an interest and aptitude for art at an early age and was inspired by the work of her mother, a talented artist in her own right. Schooled at Moore College of Art & Design and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Fuss continued to hone her craft in the corporate world at stops including The Franklin Mint, Burgoyne Greeting Cards, and Toll Brothers. She specializes in abstracts and atmospheric landscapes using oils and acrylic on canvas. Her technique is to build layers of color and texture to create works that are somewhat recognizable but provoke the viewer to see things in the painting that only their own mind might allow. At the heart of her work is a desire to evoke emotions that bring light and joy.

Featured Artist Gretchen Fuss with Notre Dame Art Students
The committee is deeply grateful to Gretchen for her extraordinary partnership in presenting the 49th Annual Notre Dame Virtual Fine Art Show & Sale.
In addition, Notre Dame is thrilled to have a number of current parents, alumnae, parents of alumnae and grandparents in this year’s Show, including Christa Amos P'20'23, Andrea Moran P'27, Wendy McClatchy '76, Susan O'Reilly, Jessica Turner '06,Tara Vaughan, La Carolyn Aberbach GP'20'22, and Liz Finley AP'09.
Due to the extraordinary circumstances brought about by the pandemic, this year’s Fine Art Show & Sale is entirely online. Parent volunteers selected the artists, created the online gallery and sales platform, and handled much of the public relations and social media strategy and execution for the show.
The Show is open to the public, and online shopping opens at NDArtShow.com on January 29, 2022. Early access is available via sponsorship. Find out more or become a sponsor at ndapa.org/artshow.
