Notre Dame Celebrates Milestone: 50th Annual Fine Art Show & Sale

Notre Dame Celebrates Milestone: 50th Annual Fine Art Show & Sale

The Notre Dame Parents' Association is proud to announce the 50th Annual Fine Art Show & Sale, which takes place from January 28 through February 5, 2023, with a Preview Event on January 27, 2023. The Art Show will be hosted both in person and online for this historical year. The in-person show will be held in the Mansion on the campus of the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, 560 Sproul Road, Villanova, PA. The online show can be found at ndartshow.com, and shopping opens on January 28. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and sponsors have early access to the show on January 27.

The Fine Art Show & Sale has evolved over the past 50 years to become one of the premiere fine art events in the tri-state region. With participation from over 100 regional professional fine artists, the collection showcases masterful, diverse and innovative 2D and 3D works of exceptional quality. Notre Dame community members and local visitors enjoy selecting artwork created in oil, acrylic, watercolor, ink, wood, glass, metal and more. Art comes in all sizes and genres allowing the perfect find to beautify any home.

Galleries of these beautiful works are housed in the historic mansion on the campus of the Academy - offering an art experience like no other. The art presence provides a rich cultural experience for the students, offering critical thinking and discussion opportunities that are threaded into their current curriculum.

Traditionally, the show selects one artist to be the Featured Artist for a given year. Unique to the 50th Anniversary show, the Art Show committee has invited back 10 past Featured Artists to comprise a Featured Artists Collective. In addition to our other exhibiting artists, the Featured Artists Collective will exhibit a variety of artwork that illustrates the diverse nature of the collection. The Featured Artists for the 2023 show are: Rachel Brown, Valerie Craig, Shawn Faust, Liz Finley, Gretchen Fuss, Susan O’Reilly '84, Elisabeth Olver, Elizabeth Sabine, Genevieve Snyder, and Jeannie Wolfington. More information about these artists and complete listing of the 2023 participating artists is available at ndartshow.com.

Annually, the show opens with a Preview Party that celebrates a partnership between the Notre Dame administration, faculty, Parents' Association, committee members, parents, volunteers, and exhibiting artists, all in support of our students’ ND experience. All are invited to enjoy this unique art encounter that has become a long-standing and valued Notre Dame tradition. This year’s Preview Party will take place on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 6:00-9:00 pm in the Mansion of the Academy of Notre Dame, 560 Sproul Road, Villanova, PA.

Tickets are now available at $100 per person. This ticket offers a preview of the show both in-person and online, and an online-only preview ticket is also available for purchase at a cost of $60. Purchase your tickets here

On Saturday, January 28, the show opens to the public for nine days, with open galleries on weekends and by appointment during the week. The 50th Anniversary show will be open to the public from Saturday, January 28 – Sunday, February 5, 2023. The Academy of Notre Dame Annual Fine Art Show & Sale was founded in 1973 by a group of dedicated ND parents who were searching for a way to increase funding to support the school's growing community, as well as to diversify the student experience and enhance art appreciation and cultural opportunities. After 50 years, the show’s purpose continues. 35% of all sales support the school and its mission - the education of young women of grades 6 through 12 for responsible living in a global society.
