Meet the ND Christmas Card Artist, Alina Tuwalski '28

Meet the ND Christmas Card Artist, Alina Tuwalski '28

Each year, Notre Dame sends a Christmas card to members of the ND community. This year, we asked our talented student artists to think of what Christmas means to them and draw, paint, or even animate their vision. For our print card, a painting of the Nativity Scene, created by Alina Tuwalski ’28, was selected.

New to the ND family this year, Tuwalski found this opportunity to have her work featured as a way to strengthen her art skills

Tuwalski is a member of Middle School Campus Ministry and Student Council, and she serves as a Student Ambassador. She also founded the K-pop Club and is a co-founder of the Bible Study Club.

Tuwalski’s faith is what inspired her to depict the Nativity Scene saying, “we should embrace our religion and faith!”

Even though it is her first year at Notre Dame, the sense of community is strong. “I feel very welcomed here - it’s a big sisterhood,” said Tuwalski.

Around the holidays, you can find Tuwalski listening to Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) while decorating her house, drinking hot chocolate, and ending the night with a Christmas movie.

No matter which way you choose to celebrate, Tuwalski wants people to recognize the fun they can have this holiday season while also keeping in mind the reason for the season.

“It is also important to remember to celebrate Jesus’ birth - he saved us all!” said Tuwalski.
