WOCO's Journey Through the "Music City" — Nashville!
Abigail Merola

The Upper School Women’s Chorale at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur recently embarked on an unforgettable trip to Nashville, where they represented the school at the prestigious WorldStrides Performing Arts Heritage Festival 2026. This enriching experience combined musical excellence with cultural exploration, offering students the chance to grow as performers while immersing themselves in one of the country’s most iconic music cities.

During their time in Nashville, students toured legendary landmarks including RCA Studio B—where artists like Elvis Presley recorded timeless hits—and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. They also participated in a special masterclass led by Dr. Deen Entsminger of Belmont University, gaining valuable insight and instruction from a respected leader in choral music.

The highlight of the trip came at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, where the chorale delivered an outstanding performance and was awarded the festival’s highest rating of GOLD. Their achievement is a testament to the dedication, talent, and hard work of each student performer.

The Academy extends its congratulations to the members of the Women’s Chorale, as well as to their director, Mr. Burbo, for his exceptional musicianship and leadership. Special thanks also go to chaperones Ms. Garcia, Ms. Cirone, and Ms. Tully, whose support helped make this remarkable experience both meaningful and memorable for all involved.
