The Academy of Notre Dame Theatre Program Presents The Addams Family Musical

The Academy of Notre Dame Theatre Program Presents The Addams Family Musical
Abigail Merola

On November 14 and 15, 2025, the Academy of Notre Dame transformed the Cuvilly Stage into the wonderfully offbeat world of The Addams Family for its Fall musical production. Filled with quirky humor, lively music, and unforgettable characters, the show offered students an opportunity to shine in every aspect of performance and stagecraft. This production was presented through Theatrical Rights Worldwide, bringing this beloved musical to life at Notre Dame.

At the center of the story was Wednesday Addams, who boldness and honesty set the tone for a heartfelt tale about embracing who we are. Her journey reminded audiences that staying true to oneself, even when it is challenging, can strengthen the bonds of family and friendship. Our Upper School students embodied these themes with energy and authenticity, showing not only their talent but also their ability to work together with creativity and respect.

Producing a musical of this scale requires dedication, focus, and teamwork. Students spent countless hours rehearsing, designing, building, and preparing, developing skills that extend well beyond the stage. This year’s production was made possible thanks to the commitment and expertise of faculty and community members who guided the 40+ student cast and crew throughout the rehearsal process. Notre Dame is grateful to Mrs. Pam Devenney, Mr. Matthew Buonomo, Mr. Nick Burbo, Mrs. Alexa Chambers '09, Mr. Doug Nagel, and Ms. Lindsay Goldschmidt '20 for their leadership and enthusiasm, which helped bring this imaginative show to life.
