Academy of Notre Dame Hosts Second Annual Model UN Conference
Abigail Merola

The Academy of Notre de Namur proudly hosted its 2nd Annual Notre Dame Model UN Conference - a vibrant day of diplomacy, debate, and collaboration. The event opened with an inspiring keynote from Dr. Paul Bidez P’26, who spoke powerfully about meaningful change and the remarkable potential young leaders have to make a lasting impact in their communities and beyond.

Following the keynote, delegates immersed themselves in a dynamic lineup of committee work, including the Cuban Missile Crisis, Hunger Games: The Capitol and the Rebels, Papal Conclave, and Water Scarcity. Each committee challenged students to think critically, negotiate thoughtfully, and explore diverse perspectives on some of the world’s most complex issues.

Notre Dame extends a heartfelt thank-you to its 12 exceptional student leaders - Ellie Biborosch ’26, Ella Bidez ’26, Bridget Blaney ’26, Maya Breh ’27, Olivia Hall ’26, Michelle Malone ’26, Grace Manion ’27, Piper May ’27, Shelby McGowan ’27, Elianna Mekwunye ’27, Kiera Norton ’26, and Ava Rubert ’27, who have been planning for this event since the spring. Their dedication, vision, and leadership made this year’s conference an inspiring success!
