Financial Aid

The financial aid program at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur is designed to assist qualified students who are unable to pay the full tuition and to provide socio-economic diversity among the student body. Financial aid funds are awarded primarily at the sixth grade and ninth grade entry levels.

Students are accepted for admission to the Academy on a need-blind basis. Once accepted, applicants for financial aid are referred to the Financial Aid Committee. Financial aid is awarded based on a family's financial need. However, the Academy considers the educational costs to be the primary responsibility of the family and expects the family to contribute at the highest possible level. Financial assistance is offered in the form of a grant which does not require repayment. As the funds are limited, the Academy is not able to meet 100% of demonstrated need.

The Academy utilizes the School and Student Services for Financial Aid (SSS) to collect basic financial information. A need analysis report is prepared by SSS which suggests the amount a family can contribute for educational costs. Since not all families' financial circumstances are equal, the Academy's Financial Aid Committee uses the SSS evaluation as a clearing house and means of standardizing applicants. Parents and student applicants must submit copies of their federal tax returns with all schedules and W-2s.

A family who is awarded a grant must reapply for aid each year by submitting a new PFS form to SSS. In addition, the student must be in good academic standing.
