The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, an independent, girls, Catholic school serving students in grades six to twelve, is seeking facilities maintenance person to perform custodial, maintenance and grounds-keeping tasks that ensure the care and upkeep of school property. This is a twelve month position beginning July 1 through June 30. The Facilities Maintenance person contributes positively to employee morale; maintains a professional, pleasant demeanor; maintains confidentiality on school matters both on and off campus; and supports the mission of the school.
JOB DUTIES include but not limited to:
Performs minor electrical and plumbing repairs, and inspections of HVAC equipment.
Performs structural maintenance activities i.e., painting school exteriors and minor roof repairs.
Performs grounds maintenance and landscaping, such as cutting grass with the use of gas powered weed trimmers, hedge trimmers, and gas powered edgers.
Assists in the removal of snow and ice from parking areas, and pedestrian walkways, with the use of gas powered snow blowers, shovels, and ice melt products.
Maintains and organizes mechanical rooms, garage and maintenance office.
Responds to and take appropriate actions in the event of emergency.
Performs regular preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment used; makes repairs within the scope of abilities.
Is responsible each day during academic year for before and after school drop-off and pick-up of students.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20 to 50 pounds; may occasionally involve heavier objects and materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
Tasks are regularly performed with potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
High school diploma or GED is preferred. Previously related experience
Ability to operate standard custodial and grounds-keeping equipment. Landscaping experience required.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written (work orders) or oral form. Ability to ascertain which people may need immediate assistance and to act accordingly, and communicate effectively with all constituents in a school environment.
Some duties may require after hours and weekend work. These will be determined by the Facilities Manager.
7:00am to 3:00pm or 8:00am – 4:00pm (per published schedule rotation)

Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach

The position includes supervision of the JV and JV B teams and oversight of the middle school teams. Junior School Coaches
The Academy of Notre Dame is seeking Junior School Coaches in the following sports: Soccer, Volleyball and Tennis. Applicants should have the following qualifications: experience coaching or playing, a positive coaching philosophy and excellent communication skills. This part-time position is for the months of September & October. The commitment is four days per week. Practices are after school from 3:30-5:00 PM.
