Director of Marketing and Communications

Reporting to the Academy of Notre Dame's President and working closely with the Senior Management Team, the Director of Marketing and Communications will develop and implement a strategic and integrated program of marketing and communication initiatives supporting the Academy of Notre Dame’s strategic goals. The Director will be responsible for planning and executing programs and marketing strategies that enhance the visibility and public perception of the Academy and provide analytical data to measure and report on the success of these initiatives.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications or public relations preferably in a nonprofit or educational institution.  The successful candidate will have a passion for the Academy of Notre Dame’s mission combined with successful experience overseeing the development, creation and implementation of a marketing plan as well as the design and production of print materials and publications combined with experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media.  The Director must have demonstrated the ability to build, foster and maintain relationships with both internal and external constituencies, effectively representing the Academy.  Must have superior communication skills to express orally and in writing, the Academy’s mission, vision and goals with clarity, passion and persuasion. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.

Director of Advancement

Reporting to the Academy of Notre Dame's President and working closely with the Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees, the Director of Advancement will plan, coordinate and direct those activities that will attract the necessary philanthropic support to provide sufficient resources to ensure excellent educational programs.  The Director oversees all fundraising activities including, the comprehensive campaign (Our Time to Inspire), annual giving, major and planned giving, capital and endowment campaigns, special events and projects, alumnae relations and other Academy-related solicitations.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in institutional advancement programs, campaigns, budgets and staff management in an independent school or higher education environment.  The successful candidate must have a broad exposure to all facets of institutional advancement, including annual fund, major gifts, planned giving and alumni relations.  Capital campaign and personal solicitation experience coupled with the ability to manage a portfolio of major gift prospects are essential.  The successful candidate will have strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated ability to work effectively with Board members, faculty, administration, staff and volunteers.  The candidate will be expected to embrace the mission of the Academy of Notre Dame.  Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.  Must be willing and able to travel.
