- The Hope for Haiti Open Mic Night fundraiser is taking place this Thursday, March 11, from 7:00-10:00 p.m. in the Cuvilly Gymnasium. Students from area private schools including Notre Dame, Malvern, St. Joes Prep, Villa Maria, Devon, Merion Mercy, Haverford, Episcopal, Sacred Heart, and Agnes Irwin have been invited to participate and will be showcasing their dance, musical and physical talents. A minimum $5 donation will be collected at the door. Over 600 guests have already registered. T-shirts with a “Hope for Haiti” logo will also be for sale at the event.
- Dr. Anthony Coletta, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical
Officer of the Holy Redeemer Health System, a former Academy
of Notre Dame Board of Trustee member and parent of Maria Coletta ‘98, will be speaking to the Notre Dame community on Friday,
March 12 at 9:45 a.m. Dr. Coletta collected orthopedic supplies from area schools and colleges to be delivered to Hait and is speaking to the Notre Dame community on his experiences in Haiti after the earthquake. Dr. Coletta has been working at a small clinic in Croix de Bouquette, a region just outside of Port au Prince, for the last several years.
