All information from the Internet should be evaluated for accuracy and reliability. As with any resource, you must read carefully and check sources. Some things to consider:

• Check to see if the page is current. What is the date?
• Where do the facts come from? Or, is it the author's opinion?
• Is there a primary source?
• Find the name of the author and check for credentials.

Generate, edit, and publish an MLA Works Cited list or APA References list that complies with the rules of the current MLA Handbook and APA Publication Manual. NoodleBib takes care of punctuation, alphabetization and formatting, producing a polished source list for import into Word.

To access NoodleBib, log on to: http://www.noodletools.com/login. The first time a student logs in, click "Create new folder" on the login screen. The student will be asked to link to our School's account. Log in using our school username and password, available from the librarian. The student will then be asked to create her own username and password and will be able to log in directly, without using the school username and password, after this first visit.

Works Cited is a list of materials including books, articles, films, recordings, Internet sources, subscription database sources, etc. that you have used in your research process and that are quoted or paraphrased in your research paper.

Works Consulted is a list of materials including books, articles, films, recordings, Internet sources, subscription database sources, etc. that you have used to gather information, ideas, facts and is NOT limited to the works cited in your paper. This list includes ALL of the resources you have used during the research process.

Be sure to verify either with your teacher or within the assignment, which type of list is required.

MLA Style: The Modern Language Association (MLA) publishes its documentation guidelines in the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (for high school and undergraduate college students). The style recommended by the association for preparing scholarly manuscripts and student research papers concerns itself with the mechanics of writing, such as punctuation, quotation, and documentation of sources. MLA style has been widely adopted by schools, academic departments, and instructors for nearly half a century. Students are to follow the MLA guidelines for citation of print and electronic resources. Students should also refer to Writing Research Papers: A Complete Guide by James D. Lester and James D. Lester, Jr. which is on reserve in the library.
