Databases for Student and Faculty Research:
User id and password information is available in three locations: Edline openinh page, Common Drive - Passwords folder and NDAnet. Click the link Spotlight on Research.
- Electric Library\Big Chalk provides users with full-text access to magazines, newspapers, books, and encyclopedias, as well as television and radio transcripts. This is a wonderful alternative to hunting down the print copies and should be treated no differently than the print resources, regarding copyright and citations.
- Facts.com: Issues and Controversies is a searchable database that offers full-text searching; links to related content from other FACTS.COM services, groups to contact for further research; interviews with experts, photos, charts, news maps - a wealth of information.
- NetTrekker is an academic search engine that's safe, fast, and easy to use. It provides educator-selected online resources that support the curriculum and align with state standards. We have access to this site courtesy of the Delaware County Intermediate Unit.
- NoodleTools
NoodleBib takes care of punctuation, alphabetization and formatting, producing a polished source list for import into Word.
- Originsonline: Origins is a documentary service brought to you by CNS - Catholic News Service. The documentation you find in Origins ranges from encyclicals, speeches and other papal messages to pastoral letters by the bishops; from diocesan policy statements to current research to speeches in the news on public policy, liturgy, social justice, the parish, the family, ministries and much more.
- Science Online
Science Online presents a broad range of scientific disciplines through extensive definitions, essays, diagrams, biographies, and experiments.
- SIRS Research is a full-text database, including magazine and journal articles. There is a section called "Database Features," which has lots of extras, including almanac articles and maps.
- Teen Health and Wellness : topics include: diseases, drugs, alcohol, nutrition, fitness, mental health, diversity, family life, and more – written for the teenager – great for all grade levels, all health related topics of interest to teens.
