Endowed Funds as of June 2019
Endowed Funds play an important role in the Academy of Notre Dame’s overall advancement program. The annual income from these funds provides tremendous benefit for the Academy’s students and helps us to fulfill our mission. These are active funds to which contributions may be made at any time. We ask you to consider your support of these funds in addition to your Annual Fund support. For further information, please contact Mimi Koelle, Director of Development.
Endowed Scholarship Funds
Adams Family Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established in 2009 by Kim and Adrian Adams P’13’15, the income from this fund provides support to qualified students with demonstrated financial need.
Alumnae Pathway to Learning Fund
The Alumnae Pathway to Learning was created in 1993 to encourage Notre Dame alumnae to show their appreciation for the education they received. Consisting of bricks engraved with donors’ names, the pathway flanks the sidewalk along Saint Julie Hall. Proceeds from the sale of engraved bricks support this endowed fund which assists students in need of financial aid.
Athletic Hall of Fame Scholarship Fund
Established in 2009 as an initiative of the Athletic Hall of Fame, which was created to recognize the accomplishments of Notre Dame alumnae and coaches who have brought distinction and honor to the Academy’s Athletic program, this fund provides tuition assistance to qualified students in need.
Atterbury Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established in 2011 by Winifred Atterbury O’Keefe ’87 and Christina Atterbury Dever ’89, the Atterbury Family Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to one or more students in need who demonstrate a kind and giving spirit, as well as a curiosity within and beyond the Notre Dame community.
Christina Marie Cullen ’87 Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The Christina Marie Cullen ’87 Memorial Endowed Scholarship shall provide tuition assistance to a High School student in need, with preference given to a student with a special talent and an interest in pursuing a career in the visual arts or music, reflecting the path to which Christina Cullen was led by her extraordinary artistic talents.
Jane M. Feely Memorial Scholarship Fund
Established in 1988 by Frank and Jane Feeley Guzikowski, in loving memory of Jane M. Feely, this fund provides tuition support for a High School student in need of financial assistance.
John J. Finley, Jr. Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established in 1994 by the family of Mildred and John J. Finley, Jr., to honor them for the countless times they quietly recognized and met the needs of the Sisters of Notre Dame and the Academy, this fund provides tuition assistance to a student in need, with preference given to an incoming sixth grader who exhibits both a desire to be of service to the less fortunate and a propensity for leadership.
Helen Seery Frank ’50 Scholarship Fund
Established in 2007 by Patricia Cunningham McCloskey, Class of 1950, in memory of her classmate, Helen Seery Frank, a “most outstanding friend and role model,” this scholarship provides tuition assistance to a High School student with demonstrated financial need.
Guarino Family Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established in 2014 by Rosemary Guarino and the family and friends of Julius Michael Guarino, the Guarino Family Endowed Scholarship provides tuition assistance to one or more academically talented student(s) in need, with preference given to the daughter or granddaughter of an alumna of the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur.
Florence K. and Joseph M. Krupp Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established in 2015 by Florence Krupp Pahides in honor of her parents, the Florence K. and Joseph M. Krupp Memorial Endowed Scholarship provides tuition assistance to a student in need with preference given to a freshman who attended Notre Dame’s Middle School and who demonstrates both a commitment to her faith and to doing the best she can in any given circumstance.
Porreca Maida Music Scholarship Fund
Established in 2004 by Glorita Porreca Maida, graduate of the Class of 1941 from Academy of Notre Dame, Rittenhouse Square, in loving memory of her daughter, Virginia, and to honor her Music teacher, Sister Virginia Beirn, SND, the Porreca Maida Music Scholarship provides tuition assistance to one or more student(s) in need with preference given to those who demonstrate extraordinary musical ability and dedication to the study of Music.
Sister Regina Fund for Financial Aid
The Sister Regina Fund for Financial Aid was established by the Academy of Notre Dame Board of Trustees in 2004 in honor of Sister Regina Finnegan, SND, to recognize her significant contributions to, and many efforts on behalf of, the Academy during her years at the helm of the school. The purpose of this endowed fund is to provide financial assistance to eligible students in need so they may begin or continue their educations at the Academy.
Vera Suppa Scholarship Fund
Established in 2008, the Vera Suppa Scholarship Fund honors Mrs. Suppa for her 54 years of teaching at the Academy of Notre Dame. The fund provides tuition assistance to a High School student in need, with preference given to a student who contributes to the musical and literary life of the Academy, reflecting Mrs. Suppa’s areas of expertise in English and Music.
Aimee Willard ’92 Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established in 2015 by Gail Willard and Sister Nancy Bonshock, SND, from memorial donations made to the original Aimee Willard ’92 Scholarship created in 1996, the Aimee Willard ’92 Memorial Endowed Scholarship provides tuition assistance to one or more academically talented student(s) in need, with preference given to those whose need is due to the death of a parent or financial reversal, so that they may continue to be enrolled at the Academy of Notre Dame.
Koelle Casciato Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established in 2020 by Kathy Koelle in loving memory of two extraordinary women who exemplified the Notre Dame spirit of fidelity to faith, family and friends. This fund honors the legacy of Nancy Koelle, an exemplary athlete, and Mary Ann Casciato, a lifetime member of her church choir, and provides tuition assistance to an eligible student in need who demonstrates ability in either athletics or music.
Other Endowed Funds
Edward E. Ford Endowment Fund
Established in 1994 with a generous matching grant from the Edward E. Ford Foundation, the income from the Edward E. Ford Endowment Fund shall provide support for the professional development of faculty in the High School at the Academy of Notre Dame.
Helen Prusak Memorial Endowment Fund
Established in 2013 by Thomas J. and Patricia F. Kennedy P’03’06, Joshua R. and Alice Levine Prusak ’95, and members of the Notre Dame community to honor Helen Prusak, member of the College Guidance Department at the Academy from 1980 through 2005. This fund may support a general departmental need, such as an assembly or college essay-writing seminar, and/or may be directed to support student need(s) related to the college application process.
General Endowment Fund
Gifts to this fund are unrestricted and live in perpetuity. Income from the General Endowment Fund may support any Academy of Notre Dame activity.
