Academy of Notre Dame de Namur (PA): Parents' Association

Academy of Notre Dame

Parents’ Association Press

Week of April 7, 2014

The pre prom party in the Mansion was once again, a time to remember! The Mansion will always hold a special place in the hearts of our girls - from reciting Shakespeare in the large hall to special prayer time in the Chapel - from making crepes in the kitchen to serenading parents on the staircase and book club and tea on Fridays. We extend a very special thank you to Cindy McKernan for organizing this year’s pre prom event.

UNITE’s Arrive Alive Tour 2014 Program to Educate on Dangers of Texting While Driving
April 9, 2014, 8:15 PM - 3:00 PM

This is a reminder that the Parents’ Association is sponsoring a distracted driving education program for students this Wednesday, April 9 from 8:15 am to 3:00 pm. The UNITE Arrive Alive program uses a high-tech simulator, impact video, and a number of other resources to educate students about the dangers of driving under the influence and texting while driving. The simulator allows students to experience the potential consequences of intoxicated and distracted driving in a controlled environment. Parents are welcome to stop by between 2 and 3 p.m. to experience the simulator firsthand. The program will be staged in the parking lot outside the Aimee Willard Gym entrance.
