Athletic Program Overview
Athletics are an integral part of the educational program. There are more students participating in sports at Notre Dame, than any of our other extra-curricular activities. Athletics offers the opportunity to enhance physical, social, emotional and moral development. We believe that participation in sports teaches the value of hard work, responsibility, time management, and the value of team play.

Our goal is to attract student-athletes to our competitive athletic program. Participation in sports is not mandatory. Notre Dame is a member of the Girls Interac League, which stresses excellence in academics as well as offering a competitive atmosphere for sports.
In addition, we play a highly competitive non-league schedule in all high school sports, competing against other public and parochial schools from Delaware, Bucks and Montgomery counties. Notre Dame encourages the multi-sport athlete, recognizing the value of the full athletic experience. Many of our student/athletes go on to participate in sports at the collegiate level.
The Junior School athletic program emphasizes skill building, team spirit, and sportsmanship. Notre Dame is a member of the Girls Catholic Academy League in Field Hockey, Basketball, Lacrosse and Softball. Soccer, Tennis, and Swimming compete independently.
Each year, Notre Dame presents two awards to honor Aimee Willard, a Notre Dame graduate whose life was cut tragically short in 1996. One award is presented at graduation to a senior based on excellence in athletics and academics combined and the second award is presented to an athlete in the InterAc league who has been nominated by her school. |
