A wonderful opportunity for students to explore their interests in a rigorous program at a college or university over the summer months. | Art In Unexpected Places |
This is an exciting opportunity for students, parents and the community. The posters
submitted by local elementary, middle, and high school students will be displayed in the
windows of businesses throughout the Main Line and on the website at
www.firstfridaymainline.com for the month of November.
Students should submit two dimensional art as follows:
- any medium
- any topic
- on construction weight paper
- 11"x17"

| International Flag of Language Design Contest |
The National Museum of Language (NML), is sponsoring a contest to design the International Flag of Language (IFL). This contest and the flag itself will be the NML's contribution to commemorate UNESCO's International Year of Languages.The contest rules and entry form are posted at http://languagemuseum.org/flag .

The contest will run from September 2 through November 28 and the winning entry will be announced in February, 2009. |
| "Green Light Contest" |
an essay competition, sponsored by PC Mall Gov, in partnership with HP, InFocus and T.H.E. Journal, seeking entries from students in two categories: grades 5 - 8 and 9 - 12. In essays of 1,000 words or less students are asked to describe how they and their teachers can utilize technology to protect the environment.
