Junior
School Campus Ministry
Moderator: Mrs. Jeanne Bernacki
The junior school at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur seeks to promote an environment in which everyone can develop personally and spiritually and grow in awareness of the needs of others. To achieve this end, the junior school campus ministry program works in collaboration with administration, faculty and students to enhance the Catholic identity and community of the junior school. The junior school campus ministry program at the Academy of Notre Dame focuses on three major areas: faith life, community life and service.

All students in sixth, seventh and eighth grade are invited (and encouraged) to be a part of the junior school campus ministry program. Students who choose to be actively involved in campus ministry meet weekly to develop activities and events that reflect a commitment to faith life, community life and service. This year, meetings will be held on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00 to 3:30. Some activities include: helping plan liturgies and community prayer, engaging in activities to benefit charitable causes and arranging events to help students get to know one another better.
Junior School Social Service
The junior school service projects happen during the school day. The intention is to give the students a good experience of service in a structured and supportive atmosphere so that, as they grow, they will be able to make loving choices about serving others and have the confidence needed to stretch beyond their comfort zone. A reflection paper is required after each visit to their respective site. This is an essential part of integrating their service experience. |
