• On March 9th, fourteen members of the World Affairs Club represented The United States and South Africa at the 61st session of Model United Nations, sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia. The event was held at the Fox Business School of Temple University and was attended by twenty public and private schools from New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Seniors Ashleen McDonough, Charnae Supplee, Lucy Chen, and Eryka Waller deserve much credit for leading the Notre Dame contingent.
  
  
• Academy of Notre Dame senior basketball players Meghan McCullough and Erin Clawson were honored on Wednesday, March 10, by The Markward Memorial Basketball Club. The Club, named after the legendary former Roman Catholic High coach, William "Billy" Markward, has been honoring players in the Public, Catholic and Inter-Ac Leagues since 1947.

   

Several current and past Academy of Notre Dame students spent a December afternoon bringing some holiday cheer to Presbyterian Children’s Village in Rosemont. Notre Dame seniors Erica Gosnell , Jackie Spoerl and Amy Corbett helped children assemble crafts at the Presbyterian Children’s Village Arts and Crafts Holiday Event. Academy of Notre Dame graduate Tory Gosnell also volunteered her time for this very special cause.

Bestselling young adult author Maggie Stiefvater visited the Academy of Notre Dame on November 23 to speak about her writing career and the first novel in The Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy, Shiver. The book, which was released in August, debuted at #9 on the New York Times bestseller list; has been selected as one of Publishers Weekly Best Books of 2009 and is also one of Amazon's Top Ten Books for Teens.
