The Challenge

Research on the outcomes of Catholic education reflect consistently higher levels of academic achievement, particularly for girls attending single-gender Catholic schools. The Academy looks ahead to further its mission to:

  • admit talented young women without regard to their ability to pay
  • attract and retain exceptional faculty
  • remain one of the top independent schools in the area
  • maintain the legacy of an authentically Catholic educational institution
  • provide a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum

Exhaustive research was conducted by Notre Dame’s various stakeholders through State of the School meetings, a facilities study, a comprehensive parents’ survey, development of a full-scale strategic plan and a marketing plan. Results concluded that significant improvement could be made in several program areas including college guidance, athletics, alumnae relations and development as well as in the physical and financial health of the school.

Our campaign, "Teach Them What They Need to Know for Life" is the result of these efforts.

What's in a Name?

"Teach them what they need to know for life," Saint Julie Billiart's vision is timeless, as relevant in today's world as when she founded the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur 1804.

"I find a sense of family all around Notre Dame. The atmosphere in the school is very friendly."
