What is BLAST ? Building Lasting Academic and Social Ties

BLAST (Building Lasting Academic Social Ties) is the Academy's largest fund-raising event of the year. Held every spring, it brings together parents, alumnae, faculty, staff and friends for an evening of fun, great food and exciting bidding on hundreds of donated items.

Every area of the Academy has benefited in some way from the Auction. Over the years, Auction proceeds have been used to purchase computers, furniture, books and research materials; to establish a fund within the endowment; to contribute to building renovations and construction; to provide financial aid to qualifying families; and to help keep the Academy on the cutting edge of technology

• The event is Notre Dame's biggest social fundraiser (with the emphasis on fun) and is open to everyone.
• Each year has a new theme to keep it exciting and fresh.
• Although our event culminates in one evening, it takes many volunteers months to prepare for that special evening, which is why we need many volunteers.
• The evening includes silent, live and luxury auctions, an ad program book, raffle drawings, and food and drink.
• More important for you to know, is that the funds raised at BLAST go directly back into the Academy to defray the costs not covered by tuition and to strengthen our academic programs.
• Each year, the loyal participation and support of parents and friends ensure the success of BLAST.
